A shower host is someone who can help set up and manage your shower on Babylist. Shower hosts can manage shower details, invitations, guests, and RSVPs.
Who has shower host access?
You and your partner automatically have shower host access.
Registry collaborators don't automatically have shower host access. Add a collaborator as a shower host if you want them to help manage your shower.
You can also invite someone new to Babylist to become a shower host.
What can a shower host do?
Shower hosts can:
- Add or change the shower date, time, and location.
- Create and edit the invitation.
- Add and manage guests.
- Send invitations.
- View RSVPs, party sizes, and guest details.
Everyone with shower host access manages the same shower, guest list, and RSVPs.
Add a shower host
In the Babylist app:
- Open your shower.
- Select Who's hosting?
- Add the person you want to give shower host access.
If you invite someone who doesn't have a Babylist account, they'll receive an invitation to create an account. After they accept, they'll have shower host access and become a registry collaborator.
If you add someone who's already a registry collaborator, they'll receive an email letting them know they've been added as a shower host. They don't need to accept another invitation.
Shower host access and the host on your invitation are different
Shower host access controls who can manage your shower on Babylist.
The host shown on your invitation is guest-facing information about who's hosting the celebration. The people listed on the invitation don't need shower host access or a Babylist account.
Someone with shower host access also doesn't need to appear as a host on the invitation.
Does a shower host need a Babylist account?
Yes. Someone needs a Babylist account before they can have shower host access.
If you invite someone who isn't on Babylist, they'll be asked to create an account before they can access your shower.
Does a registry collaborator automatically have shower host access?
No. Registry collaborators and shower hosts have different permissions.
If you want a registry collaborator to manage your shower, add them as a shower host.
What happens when I add someone new as a shower host?
Someone who isn't already on Babylist receives an invitation to join. When they accept, they become both a shower host and a registry collaborator.
An existing registry collaborator receives an informational email when you add them as a shower host and doesn't need to accept another invitation.
Can multiple shower hosts manage the same shower?
Yes. All shower hosts work with the same shower, guest list, and RSVPs.
Changes made by one shower host affect the same event that the other shower hosts manage.
