Create a shower event to share event details, collect RSVPs, and manage your guest list. Shower events are available on the Babylist website and in the Babylist app for iOS and Android.
Create a shower event
Registrants, partners, and collaborators can create a shower event.
- Tap Add shower at the top of your Home page.
- You can also tap Add your shower date in the For You section.
- Enter your shower date.
- Tap Create invite.
- Add your event details:
- Time
- Location
- A message for your guests
- Event theme (optional)
- RSVP settings
- A background image
- Tap Save.
Your shower event is added to your registry and is ready to share.
Already added a shower date? Return to your shower event and tap Create invite to finish setting up your event. If you added a shower date using the older shower date feature, the new shower event experience may not be available yet.
Customize RSVP settings
When you create or edit a shower event, you can:
- Allow guests to select Maybe.
- Set the maximum number of additional guests each guest can bring.
Invite guests
You can invite guests in two ways.
Share a public event link
- Open your shower event.
- Tap Invite guests.
- Copy or share the public event link.
- Send the link by text message, email, social media, or another sharing method.
Anyone with the link can view your event details and RSVP.
Send invitations through Babylist
- Open your shower event.
- Tap Invite guests.
- Add guests by:
- Importing contacts from your phone
- Uploading a file (.csv, .txt, .tsv)
- Pasting contacts (name and email or phone number)
- Entering guest information manually
- Review your guest list.
- Send invitations by email or text message.
Manage your guest list
Open your shower event at any time to manage your guest list.
You can:
- View RSVP totals.
- View guest responses.
- Review guest contact information.
- Update a guest's RSVP.
- Change a guest's party size.
- Remove guests from the event.
FAQs and troubleshooting
I don't see the shower event feature.
If you're using the Babylist app, make sure you're using one of these app versions or later:
- iOS: 1.36.414
- Android: 3.80.0
If you're using an older version, update the Babylist app and try again.
If you're reusing an old registry, it's best to create a new registry to use the shower event experience.
I can't invite guests.
If you only added a shower date, you haven't created a shower event yet. Open your shower event and tap Create invite to finish setting it up.
My partner or collaborator can't see the event.
If your partner or collaborator was added after the event was created, edit the event and tap Save. If they still can't access the event, chat with our support team.
Can I create more than one event?
Yes. You can create multiple shower events.
Can someone who doesn't use Babylist host an event?
No. Hosts must have a Babylist account with access to the registry.
Can I create events other than baby showers?
No. Shower events are currently available only for baby showers.
