Create a shower event to add your shower details, send invitations, collect RSVPs, and manage your guest list. The setup steps depend on which platform you're using.
Set up your shower on iOS
Use the Shower Hub in the Babylist iOS app to set up and manage your shower.
Open the Shower Hub from your registry Home page by selecting Shower details in your registry summary or Add shower details under For You.
Add your shower details in any order:
- When's the shower? Add the date, time, and time zone.
- Where will it be held? Add the shower location.
- Who's invited? Build and manage your guest list.
- Design the invitation: Choose your invitation design and add a message for your guests.
When you select a location from the available results, Babylist uses Google Maps to fill in the location details.
Your date, time, and location are automatically added when you design your invitation. You can save the invitation and preview what friends and family will see.
Create another shower on iOS
You can create multiple shower events.
To find all of your showers in the iOS app:
- Open the menu.
- Select Registry settings.
- Select Manage shower under Actions.
- Select the + button in the top-right corner to create another shower.
Set up your shower on Android or web
Android and web currently use a different shower setup experience.
- Open your registry Home page.
- Select Add shower.
- Enter your shower date.
- Select Create invite.
- Add your shower details and RSVP settings.
- Select Save.
You can also start from the shower option under For You.
You need to create an invitation before you can share your shower or send invitations.
Customize RSVP settings
When you create or edit a shower event, you can:
- Allow guests to select Maybe.
- Set the maximum number of additional guests each guest can bring.
Invite guests
You can invite guests in two ways.
Share a public event link
- Open your shower event.
- Tap Invite guests.
- Copy or share the public event link.
- Send the link by text message, email, social media, or another sharing method.
Anyone with the link can view your event details and RSVP.
Send invitations through Babylist
- Open your shower event.
- Tap Invite guests.
- Add guests by:
- Importing contacts from your phone
- Uploading a file (.csv, .txt, .tsv)
- Pasting contacts (name and email or phone number)
- Entering guest information manually
- Review your guest list.
- Send invitations by email or text message.
Manage your guest list
Open your shower event at any time to manage your guest list.
You can:
- View Yes, Maybe, No, No reply yet, and Not sent responses.
- View each guest's party size.
- Review guest contact information and notes.
- Update a guest's RSVP or party size.
- Remove a guest.
No reply yet means an invitation was sent, but the guest hasn't responded. Not sent means the person is on your guest list but hasn't been sent an invitation.
FAQs and troubleshooting
If you already added a shower date
If you added your date through the current shower experience, return to your shower from your registry Home page to continue setting it up.
If you added your date through Babylist's older shower-date experience, delete the legacy shower date and refresh the app to access the current shower experience.
If you added a date but can't invite guests
Create your invitation before trying to share your shower or invite guests.
On iOS, open the Shower Hub and select Design the invitation.
On Android or web, return to your shower and select Create invite.
If you're not having a shower
On iOS, select I'm not having a shower at the bottom of an empty Shower Hub.
If you've already started setting up the shower, select the (⋯) menu in the top-right corner to delete it instead. You may be asked to complete an optional survey.
Can I create events other than baby showers?
No. Babylist shower events currently support baby showers only.
