When you transfer a registry from another retailer into Babylist, not all items may come through. This article explains why some products don’t import and how to add them manually if needed.
What doesn’t transfer
Some items won’t appear in your Babylist registry after a transfer:
- Group gifts or cash funds
- Gift cards
- Store-exclusive items (products not sold outside the original retailer)
- Out-of-stock or discontinued items
In some cases, a product’s image or details might not transfer fully if the original store doesn’t share complete item data.
If your registry is from Amazon, turn off the group gifting option before submitting your transfer request. Group gifts on Amazon aren’t recognized by our import tool and will not transfer.
Registry transfers are one-time imports
Transferring a registry creates a snapshot of your items at that moment. If you add new items to your original registry later, those changes won’t sync to Babylist. You’ll need to manually add any new products.
How to add missing items
Use the Babylist browser button to add any item from another website directly to your registry. It works with most online stores and lets you capture product details instantly.
