Great question! A gift that is on hold has already been chosen by another Gift Giver. It's one of three possible statuses a gift on our registries can be in. Here's more information:
- Available - If a gift is available, this means no other Gift Giver has chosen it yet and it's up for grabs! It'll look like this:
- On Hold - If a gift is on hold, it means that someone else has it in their Babylist cart and plans to purchase it. To avoid duplicate gifts being given, it is best not to purchase gifts that are on hold. You're welcome to keep an eye on gifts that are on hold to see if the current Gift Giver changes their mind and cancels their hold. If they do, the gift will go back on the registry as an available item. Gifts that are on hold do expire. You can find out more info about that here. - Purchased - If a gift is shown as purchased, this means that a Gift Giver has confirmed their purchase of that item on the registry. Here's an example of what a purchased item looks like next to an available item:
