Great question! A gift that is on hold has already been chosen by another Gift Giver. It's one of three possible statuses a gift on our registries can be in. Here's more information:
- Available - If a gift is available, this means no other Gift Giver has chosen it yet and it's up for grabs! You'll see the green "Give this Gift" button beside it.
- On Hold - If a gift is on hold, it means that someone else has chosen that gift and is in the process of purchasing it. To avoid duplicate gifts being given, it is best not to purchase gifts that are on hold. You're welcome to keep an eye on gifts that are on hold to see if the current Gift Giver changes their mind and cancels their hold. If they do, the gift will go back on the registry as an available item. Holds on items currently do not expire. Here's an example of what an item on hold looks like next to an available item:
- Purchased - If a gift is shown as purchased, this means that the Gift Giver who placed a hold on the item has bought the gift and confirmed their purchase on the registry. Here's an example of what a purchased item looks like next to an available item:
