A Babylist Shop gift that's on hold has been claimed by another Gift Giver. If they don't buy it within 48 hours, the hold is released and the item returns to the registry as available.
Registry items can be in one of three statuses:
- Available: If a gift is available, this means no other Gift Giver has chosen it yet and it's up for grabs! It'll look like this:
- On Hold - If a gift is on hold, it means that someone else has it in their Babylist cart and plans to purchase it. To avoid duplicate gifts being given, it is best not to purchase gifts that are on hold. You're welcome to keep an eye on gifts that are on hold to see if the current Gift Giver changes their mind or if the hold gets canceled. If that happens, the gift will go back on the registry as available. Gifts that are on hold expire after 48 hours. Here's what an item on hold looks like next to an available item:
- Purchased - If a gift is shown as purchased, it's been bought and confirmed by another Gift Giver. Similar to on hold items, purchased ones are lightly greyed out and missing buying details, like this:
