How do I add items to my Babylist registry?

Babylist lets you add products from any store, all in one place. You can add items using the Babylist Button on your computer or through the Babylist app on your phone or tablet. This article explains how to add items to your Babylist registry.

Add items using the Babylist Button (recommended)

The Babylist Button is a browser tool that lets you add items from any online store directly to your Babylist registry.

To install the Babylist Button:

1. Go to the Babylist Button page.
2. Follow the instructions for your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
3. Once installed, click the Babylist Button anytime you’re viewing a product you’d like to add.

Benefits:

• Add products from any retailer in just one click.
• Keep everything organized in one registry list.
• Use it on most major online stores.

Add items using the Babylist app

You can also add items from your phone or tablet using the Babylist app.

To add items:

1. Open the Babylist app.
2. Tap + Add Items at the bottom of your screen.
3. Search Babylist Shop or use your browser’s Share to Babylist feature to add items from other stores.

If you’re using an iPad, turn on Share to Babylist in your browser’s share menu.

You can also use the barcode scanner in the Babylist app on iOS or Android. See How do I add items to my Babylist registry using the barcode scanner? for step-by-step instructions.

Tips for building your registry

• Choose trusted and well-known retailers—from large national stores to small local shops — as long as they’re legitimate online retailers.
• Items bought from other stores will follow that store’s return policy.
• Use the Registry Checklist to find must-have baby essentials.

Troubleshooting when you can’t add items

If you’re having trouble adding items with the Babylist Button or app:

1. Check your browser or app version – Use an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) or the latest version of the Babylist app.
2. Refresh or restart – Refresh the page or restart your app or browser to clear temporary issues.
3. Reinstall the Babylist Button – Make sure the Button is installed correctly. If it’s missing or unresponsive, reinstall it from the Babylist Button page.
4. Try another site or method – Some retailers (like Amazon or Target) may have restrictions that block the Button. Try adding from another store or use manual add in your registry.
5. Clear browser cache and cookies – Old data can interfere with the Button’s function.
6. Try another device – If the problem persists, switch to a different device or browser.
7. App-specific fixes – On mobile, make sure Babylist has internet permissions. Force close or reinstall the app if needed.
8. Registry Item Limit- You can add up to 1000 items to a registry. If you need more, you can create a second registry.
9. Contact support – If none of these steps work, contact Babylist support with your browser or app version and the store you were trying to add from.
