No, you can’t cancel or remove items that someone else has added to their cart. When friends or family add a Babylist Shop item to their cart, it’s automatically placed On Hold for 48 hours so no one else can buy it at the same time.
How the 48-hour hold works
- When someone adds a Babylist Shop item to their cart, the item is automatically held for 48 hours.
- During that time, the item shows as “On Hold” on your registry so others don’t purchase it.
- If the person doesn’t complete checkout within 48 hours, the hold expires and the item becomes available again for someone else to buy.
If you remove that item from your registry during the hold, it will also disappear from anyone’s cart who hasn’t checked out yet.
If an item is unavailable after the hold
If the item is sold out or removed from the Babylist Shop during the hold, it won’t return to your registry. You can add a similar item manually using the Babylist Button or browse for alternatives in the Babylist Shop.
