Cash Fund Changes (March 2020)

We’re making some changes to cash funds here at Babylist. Don’t worry: cash funds aren’t going away. You’ll still be able to ask for funds for anything you need.

Why are we changing the way we handle cash funds?

Right now, if you’re gifted cash funds, it can take up to 5 days for the money to be available and Babylist collects them on your behalf.  Most cash gifts are given directly to the recipient, so we're shifting our approach to make it easier for your friends and family to contribute directly to you.

How will the new cash funds on my registry work?

We will no longer be collecting funds from your gift givers on your behalf.  Instead, when someone decides they want to contribute to your fund(s), we’ll let them know how to get it directly to you. You can choose to receive funds electronically through PayPal, or we’ll let them know how you’d like to receive checks or cash at your shower or through snail mail.

When will this change happen?

The new cash fund system will be in place starting Friday, March 6th, 2020.  If you don’t have a balance in your cash fund, you’re all set.  No action is required on your part unless you'd like to add Paypal details to make it easier for friends and family to contribute to your fund.  To add electronic account information, simply edit the cash fund item(s) found in your registry.

What if I have a current balance in my cash fund?

We’ll pay it out automatically on March 6th.  It can take several business days for the money to be available in your account.  Wait times will vary based on your bank but the delay helps ensure sufficient fraud protection for everyone involved.

How do I update my bank account information?

If you want to update your bank account details or request a transfer on your own, do so by navigating to your account settings.

I have a question that isn't listed here, what should I do?
